You buy OpenHub products once. Not a subscription that stops when you stop paying, and not a licence that expires and leaves you with an app that refuses to start.
If you buy it, it is yours. It works in a year, in five, and if we were to close down.
One year of updates
A year of updates comes with the purchase. Everything we release in that year is yours.
When the year is up the program keeps working exactly as before - nothing is taken away. If you want the versions that come after, you extend the updates. If you do not, you keep the version you have.
Why
Because we are tired of tools that stop working when a card expires, and of renting something we have already paid for. A program on your own machine should not need a server's permission to open a file you made.
It is also why everything that can run locally, does.
